I Thessalonians 5 

 Paul wanted his readers to remember that Christ is coming at any time and they needed to be ready. We  also are "people who belong to the light".  We need to remain alert and sober.. walking in faith, love, and hope.  We belong to Jesus, our Deliverer, who has given us LIFE, so no matter what happens to us in this world.. we will live forever with Him.  Hallelujah!!

As the Church, the Body of Christ, we are to  "encourage and build each other up".  This includes showing respect to those who guide, teach, and even rebuke us, so that we are changed for the better. 

We are to live at peace with each other.  

We are to be patient with each other.  

We are to do good to each other. 

Paul concludes his letter with this, "Always be joyful. Pray regularly. In everything give thanks, for this is what God wants from you who are united with the Messiah Yeshua." ( v16)   

Hold onto good and keep away from evil... this is our commission and purpose in Christ Jesus.  

I love this benediction -my prayer for you today - . " May the God of peace make you completely holy - may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. The one calling you is faithful and He will do it."   Amen and amen!
