I Chronicles 24-28  David not only provided the plans and the resources for building the temple, but he organized the priests and Levites, the leaders of each tribe, and the military.  He had counselors and treasurers, managers and overseers...  He prepared everything so that Solomon could accomplish the full establishment of the kingdom of Israel.. all that Solomon needed to do was "be courageous and act". (28:10)

David's charge to Solomon is an inspiration for prayer.. "As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever." (v9)

This is the prayer I pray for my family too. 

Father,  You reign forever.  You are the God of every generation.  You are our help and our hope is in You.  Lord, You secure justice for the oppressed.  You give food to the hungry. You set prisoners free.  You open blind eyes and lift up the downtrodden.  You sustain the widow and the orphan and help the stranger.  You love us and have given us all that we have.Thank You ! Father, we pray for our families that they would serve You with whole hearts and willing minds. We pray that they will seek You and that You will let them find You.  We pray that they will not reject You, but humble themselves before You and find salvation in Christ Jesus who has sacrificed His own blood for our redemption. All glory and honor and praise we give to You. Amen.
