I Peter 1:2-9

We are "chosen" -
"according to the  foreknowledge of God the Father"
"by the sanctifying work of the Spirit"
"that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood"

All three members of the Trinity are mentioned here so that we can affirm this complete salvation that is from God alone.  He chose.  He sanctified. He sprinkled us with His blood.  All of grace.

And this is why we bless His Name. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.."

He caused us to be born again... He has "begotten us again" (KJV) "according to His abundant mercy".
He chose us.. He bore us.... for His purposes -

... " to a living hope"
.. " to obtain an inheritance"
..." for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

Through the "resurrection of Jesus Christ":
 - we have "living hope" - an anticipated expectation/ confidence  of life.
- we receive "an inheritance "- "imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you."  It won't decay, rust, or tarnish.  It is pure. It is protected.  It is a possession, a treasure.. worth more than we can imagine.. more than anything this world affords..
- we will experience a final "salvation" - a deliverance from this world.. from our mortal and corruptible bodies.. "protected by the power of God through faith...."

Resurrection power... Creation power - the dunamis of God - the strong, mighty, violent, wonderful, and miraculous power of God - protects us "through faith"..

Faith that is tested by trials, so that it may "be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
Faith that brings us to love the One we do not see.." to believe in Him.. to greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory"
Faith - that obtains as its outcome, "the salvation of [our] souls."

Father in heaven, You are holy and we honor and exalt Your Name.  We are full of gratitude and praise for what You have done for us, for Your great mercy on us. Give us understanding of Your Word as we seek You and put our faith in You alone. Draw near to us as we draw near to You.
Amen.
