Hebrews 2 "For this reason.."  Because of Who Jesus is.. the Begotten Son.. the Eternal King.. the Appointed Heir.. "we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard.. " 

All that Jesus Is.. all that He did.. all that He will do.. was and is for the Father's purposes..  Everything has been made "subject" .. subordinate.. under obedience.. to Jesus...... "He left nothing that is not subject to Him." (v8)  We don't see it all clearly now.. but we can know by faith that this is True. 

According to the Father's plan, Jesus was "made for a little while lower that the angels.."  There was a greater purpose for His suffering as a man of flesh and bones.  The writer tells us that  He was "crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone." (v9)

Because He suffered, Jesus would bring "many sons and daughters to glory".  He now calls us His brothers and sisters.. 

He "shared in [our] humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death - that is, the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death." 

Jesus was made fully human.. so that He could be "a merciful and faithful high priest.. "  He made atonement for us.  He faced temptations like us.

Our Savior and King.. through and for  Whom all of creation came into existence ... became flesh and bones.  He suffered. He died. He broke the power of death. He resisted temptation.  He did it all, so that we might be His family.. forever.   This same Jesus is our High priest.. merciful and faithful.  He intercedes for us.  He ministers to us. He completes in us what we cannot.  He paid the wages of our sins.. so that we might share in His glory.  Let us truly take heed.. pay closer attention.. don't let this Truth "slip away" in the distractions of this world. 

Father, we exult in Your holy Name and in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior forever!  What a Wonderful Savior is Jesus our Lord! He is not ashamed to call us His brothers and sisters.  This is amazing grace and we give You thanks.  Hallelujah, what a Savior! Do all You desire in us today we pray.. in the Powerful Name of Jesus. Amen.
