Hebrews 10

The Law was only a shadow of something greater that was to come.  It was unable to make anything perfect.  It only allowed temporary solutions to the problem of sin.  The sacrifices offered only covered the sins but did not cure the sinfulness of the heart.  But when Christ came and offered Himself as a sacrifice for sin.. it was for all sin .. and for all time.  "For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified." 

He has made this new covenant with us.
His law is in our hearts.
They are written in our minds.
Our sins are no longer remembered or held against us by the Lord.

We can enter the Holy place with confidence.. " by the blood of Jesus". 
This is a "new and living way". 

Because of Jesus, our great High Priest we can "draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water," 

Hold fast to this! ".. for He who promised is faithful." 

And because of this "let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another and all the more, as you see the day drawing near." ( v24-25)

Here is what the church is meant to be.. a place where followers of Jesus come with sincere hearts to encourage one another in our faith and in love, to  rejoice in the salvation that He purchased for us with His blood,  and to be united with one another in Christ, for His glory! We are meant to do this together!

Father, help us once again to hear Your voice and to do Your will. May we be like Jesus.
