II Peter 1:12-21  Peter exhorts his readers to be diligent..to keep growing in faith.. by grace.  He wrote this letter to remind us of the Truth of Jesus. He was ready to go to be with the Lord, but he wanted to leave behind these words.. "For we did not follow cleverly devised tales..."  he testifies..but, "we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ..."

Peter heard with his own ears when God, the Father spoke, saying "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased."  He read the prophets who spoke of the coming Messiah, and saw first hand how Jesus fulfilled those prophesies.

Knowledge..of the Word leads to more knowledge of Jesus...a building block of faith. For faith comes by hearing..and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Father in heaven, let Your Word dwell in us richly, that we might know You more ..that we might abide in Christ our Savior, adding virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness, and love to the gracious gift of faith we have through Him. Amen
