Mark 16 The final chapter of Mark condenses the 40 days following the resurrection into quick snapshots-
Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome going to the tomb.. finding the angel.. running to tell the disciples with "trembling and astonishment"..
Jesus appearing to Mary.. then to the two walking along into the country..
Jesus appearing to the 11 and "reproaching" them for their unbelief..
Jesus giving His final instructions before being "received up into heaven".
The disciples.. preaching "everywhere".
The message that Mark records "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned."
Mark has given to us the whole story.. from the beginning to the end of Jesus' life on earth. We have seen Him through the pictures that Mark and the other gospel writers have shared with us. We have the opportunity to believe or to disbelieve.. We have the promise of Jesus that if we believe and are baptized we will be saved.
Father, we are so thankful for the Word of Truth that reveals the life and ministry of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We choose to believe, to follow Him, and to be saved. Thank You Lord! Fill our lives with Your Spirit that we might be like the disciples.. going into all the world and sharing this good news! Amen
